Terms for using the Aurora Beacon website and app, including forecast limitations and observing safety.

Information, not a guarantee

Aurora activity and visibility are naturally uncertain. Forecasts, derived estimates, alerts and suggested viewing windows are informational and cannot guarantee that an aurora will occur or be visible from a particular location.

Use of the service

You must not misuse Aurora Beacon, interfere with its operation, attempt to bypass access controls or use the service in a way that breaches applicable law.

Third-party data and services

Aurora Beacon uses information from external scientific, weather, mapping and platform services. Availability, licensing and accuracy of those sources can change and may affect features.

Subscriptions

Where Aurora Beacon Plus is offered, purchases, renewals and cancellations are handled under the rules of the relevant app-store platform. Features and availability may evolve over time.

Observing safety

Do not place yourself at risk to view or photograph the aurora. Check access, weather, road, coastal, terrain and local safety conditions independently before travelling or observing.
